A UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) Operator has to deliver an Amazon package with the least noise possible while maintaining mission efficiency.
So she opens the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Noise tool and inputs the mission parameters, including the drone type, departure point, and delivery destination. The tool simulates various possible flight paths, calculating the predicted noise along each route. It analyses the potential noise impact on nearby noise-sensitive locations like hospitals, schools, and residential areas. Using noise impact statistics, the tool recommends the best flight paths that minimize noise disruption while maintaining mission efficiency.
The Operator views the noise impact through the intuitive impact map and summary statistics. Based on the results, she selects the optimal route (for instance, the one with the least higher percentage of annoyed people, or the one with the least increase in annoyance) and plans the drone’s delivery mission accordingly.
